The Duality of Vacation Dressing

The Duality of Vacation Dressing

Packing for your next trip, but not really sure what to bring? I guess my answer is, it depends on where you're going. Anyone that knows me knows that I love a theme, and I always try to establish a central theme when I'm traveling to make packing just a little easier. This could either be a themed aesthetic or a color palette to help guide you.

So, where are you going? Somewhere tropical and bright? I'd say pull out the bold fun colors and prints. You're on vacation, so might as well stand out and be the main character. I prefer opting for prints that coincide with the destination. Try a pineapple printed dress if you're going to Hawaii or shorts printed with exotic flora and fauna for visiting Caribbean beaches.

Now maybe you might be going somewhere a little less vibrant, but no less beautiful. Are you having a European Vacation or Summering in the Hamptons? I'd go for classic white cotton or linen pieces paired with various shades of blue or pale yellow. This look is very reminiscent of the architecture of Santorini, with their stark white buildings adorned with bright beautiful blue domes. Sticking to this simple color palette on an extended vacation also eases the stress of packing. Instead of trying to match all of your shoes and accessories to several different aesthetics or colors, with a more demure palette you're able to lighten your load.

Whether you're living la vida loca on a beach in Mexico or la dolce vita on a beach on the Amalfi Coast, I hope these tips for vacation dressing helps ease your mind. At the end of the day the best accessory for any look is a ice cold aperol spritz.
